About Chris Reynolds

I am a Developer Advocate at Pantheon and have been working with WordPress since my first foray as a freelance web designer and developer specializing in 2007. Since then, I've worked with Event Espresso, WebDevStudios, Human Made and Altis and I wrote of a bunch of WordPress-centric online training courses for Pluralsight. When I'm not writing code (or, these days, blog posts, GitHub actions, or videos), I run and play Dungeons & Dragons, occasionally make electronic music and cheer for Utah Royals FC.

Show your WCSLC pride with site badges!

Heading to WordCamp? Spread the word! We have site badges for sponsors, speakers, and volunteers, too. Each of these are 1500x1500px — go bold or shrink the image to the size you need if you want to upload them to your site directly, or use the code below.

Parking and Public Transportation

As we are getting closer to the event, you may be wondering where to find parking or how you will get to the event. Don’t worry we have you covered.

Parking

There is parking available at the City Library located on 400 S between 3rd E and 4th E. The cost of this parking is $3 hour with a $12 max. There is parking on the street that is free on Saturdays but it is limited. Parking at the City-County Building is restricted unless you have a handicap permit. With a permit the parking is on the east side of the building and the ADA entrance is south of the main steps.

Trax

If you want to ride the local public transit, a day pass for Trax is only $6.25. You will need to find your way to the Blueline Route. Once you are on Trax you will need to find either Courthouse Station or Library Station. Library Station is about 1/2 a block east and Courthouse Station is about 1 1/2 blocks west of the venue. Both are within walking distance.

Looking forward to seeing everyone no matter how you get there!

WCSLC 2016 tickets are now available!

Tickets for the 2016 WordCamp Salt Lake City are now available. Head over to our tickets page to get yours. We’re lining up an excellent selection of speakers and it’s set to be an awesome event.

If you get your tickets early, you can benefit from our “early bird” coupon code. Use WCSLC-earlybird as your coupon code during registration to get $5 off the $20 ticket price. Early bird registrations help us to estimate an accurate head count for the event and helps us make our t-shirt and swag orders. If you’ve been to last year’s WordCamp you’ll know our downtown location makes it easy to access but challenging to park — or, at least with a potential cost for parking or public transportation. The early bird discount helps offset those costs.

And if you’re interested in speaking, sponsoring, or volunteering for WordCamp be sure to get in touch!

Update 7/18, 9:34pm MST

An earlier version of this post incorrectly listed the coupon code as WPSLC-earlybird. The correct coupon code is WCSLC-earlybird. Thanks to Cameron who pointed it out on our Facebook page. The post has been updated to reflect the correct coupon code and we apologize for the confusion.

Call for volunteers!

We’ve got an amazing organizing team for WCSLC. But do you know what it’s missing? YOU!

Speaking from personal experience, volunteering at a WordCamp can be an incredibly fun and exciting experience. You get to meet a lot of really cool people from all parts of the WordPress community and it’s a great, easy way to give back to this community and this project that we know and love. The best part? Volunteers get in free.

We’re always looking for people to help out in various ways; from room monitors, to equipment jockeys or food runners, helpers on the day of the event, to more visible things like design and logo wranglers to help us make the website reflect our unique community here in the greater Salt Lake Valley. Let us know who you are and what you’d like to do and we’ll be in touch!
